BEHAVIOUR PROBLEMS

Expert Advice for the Most Difficult Issues

If you are experiencing a behavioural issue with your dog, you have come to the right place! Simone Day is one of a small number of academically qualified canine behaviourists in the country, holding an MSc with Distinction in treating behaviour problems in dogs, combined with over 25 years of hands-on experience.

Behaviour problems in dogs are one of the main reasons that dogs are rehomed, abandoned or euthanised. They create stress and conflict for both the dog and owner - and they rarely improve if ignored. Fortunately, help is available. In most cases, behaviour problems can be resolved or, at the very least, improved to a level that is manageable and safe.

Understanding the Problem

Review your dog’s history in depth
-
Explore the relationship between your dog and family
This information allows us to understand why the issues are occurring and to provide the most appropriate treatment advice.

First Steps

The dog–owner relationship is the foundation of any behaviour programme. You’ll be given tailored advice on how to strengthen this relationship, alongside strategies for managing the problem behaviours if they arise. You’ll also receive step-by-step guidance for relevant behaviour modification and training exercises.

Your programme will be explained in detail during the consultation, and you’ll be provided with written advice sheets specific to your dog’s issues.

Ongoing Support

Follow-up assessments and support are available on an hourly basis, at intervals suited to the nature and severity of the problem (weekly, biweekly, monthly, etc.). You can continue for as little or as long as needed. Between sessions, email, text, or phone support is always available, if needed.

Some issues can be resolved quickly, while others may require more time before significant progress is seen. We will continue to work together for as long as necessary.

Get Help Sooner Rather than Later

The most important thing to remember about behavioural problems is that they don't disappear with time - they usually get worse. Early intervention greatly increases the chances of success.
If you think your dog is in the early stages of a developing behavioural problem, seeking help now will give you the best chance of resolving it. If you know your dog has a an established issue, acting quickly will prevent it from developing further.
